David is a graphic designer by trade,
who took a keen interest in illustrating
a few years ago; after creating many
quirky characters whilst commuting
to work on the train. Having illustrated
and self-published children's picture
book The Nerdy Birdy in 2013, David's
unique style was quickly recognised
– and the success of the book grew
in 2014 when The Nerdy Birdy was
shortlisted for the Children's Book
Council of Australia 2014 Crichton
Award for Best New Illustrator.
